Seattle is a walkable city with state-of-the-art transit, making it easy to get around without a private vehicle.
With more than 1,200 domestic and international flights arriving and departing daily to and from SEA Airport—and as the home base of Alaska Airlines and the West Coast hub for Delta Air Lines and American Airlines—Seattle is easy to get to and to get around. Connected by the Link light rail, downtown hotels are only a 40-minute ride away from the airport, and fuel-efficient rideshare vehicles are available at the terminal. Getting around Seattle on foot is also a cinch. With a downtown walk score of 98, the city’s top sites and venues are just steps away. Experience Seattle on two wheels with rentable electric bikes and app-accessible scooters available on virtually every corner. And visitors with mobility challenges should not be deterred. The city offers wheelchair-accessible public transit and concierge services for those in need of assistance.
Travel by Rail
Five train routes service Seattle’s King Street Station, located near the stadiums and Pioneer Swuare: Sound Transit‘s Sounder commuter train (Everett to Tacoma/Lakewood); Amtrack‘s Coast Starlight, and Empire Builder; and the Rocky Mountaineer.
Travel by Link Light Rail
Sound Transit’s Link light rail makes trips from Angle Lake Station to the Northgate through downtown Seattle making 16 stops along the way, including downtown Seattle and SEA Airport. Trains arrive every 8 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day, and take about 40 minutes to travel between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Westlake Station in downtown Seattle. Travel by Monorail
The Seattle Center Monorail travels between Westlake Center in downtown and Seattle Center at the base of Queen Anne hill. Trains depart every 10 minutes and the trip takes only 2 minutes each way. Schedules, fares, and information are on the Seattle Center Monorail website.
